An officer from the Scarsdale Police Department on patrol on Mamaroneck Avenue at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, when he spotted a Range Rover with a Connecticut license plate slamming on the brakes repeatedly before making several quick turns.
The officer stopped the driver, New York City resident Timothy Bolton, who stated that he was coming from New Canaan and was trying to find the train station. When the officer asked if he had ever been to Scarsdale, Bolton said “a few times.”
According to police, while speaking with Bolton, the officer smelled alcohol on his breath and noted that his eyes were glassy and bloodshot, and his speech was slurred.
When prompted, Bolton told the officer that he had consumed “two glasses of wine.” An alto-sensor pre-screening test performed by the officer determined that Bolton was allegedly driving while impaired and he was arrested.
Bolton was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content greater than .18 percent, both misdemeanors. Following his processing, Bolton was released to a sober third-party and is scheduled to appear in Scarsdale Village Court on Wednesday, July 24 to respond to the charges.
